Emotional health is key to parenting, and there are elements of parenting that can cause anxiety, stress and even depression for many parents. This workshop looks at what anxiety stress and depression can look and feel like, and how they might affect parenting behaviour. It looks at what can cause these feelings, such as birth experience, our own and other’s expectations of our parenting skills, the struggles of achieving or working towards practical milestones such as nutrition, or sleeping through the night, the emotional impact of life after becoming parents, the impact of our ‘inner child’ and why its hard to ask for help as adults. It also looks at how to alleviate the pressures and start to feel more positive.
